If your problem does not need to dealt with on the same day please telephone after 9.30am so that patients needing more urgent appointments can contact us before 9.30am.
We are continuously making improvements to our appointments system in response to feedback we receive from patients. We have recently increased the number of appointments available for advanced booking and would like to encourage you to book appointments in advance wherever possible so that same day appointments can be reserved for patients with urgent problems.
As well as surgery appointments, we also offer telephone consultations which can be suitable for issues such as medication queries, the need to discuss test results or advice requests. In addition we offer appointments with our Nurse Practitioners, Anila Avison and Helen O'Connell, who have undertaken extensive training in clinical skills. They assess patients with a wide range of medical conditions and initiate and review treatment. They are qualified to prescribe and work in conjunction with the Duty Doctor.

To enable us to offer more appointments we would appreciate it if you could let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to keep an appointment. Between October 2016 to March 2017 there have been 756 missed GP and Nurse appointments; which breaks down in 'clinicans time' to 166.22 hours, this does not include the number of appointments that patients were late for. If you cannot make your appointment, please cancel it.
If you need a telephone consultation with a Doctor or Nurse Practitioner we will arrange for them to contact you usually on completion of their morning surgeries.
