Blood tests are performed between 8.15am and 9.15am, Tuesday to Friday mornings, by phlebotomists who visit the surgery from Airedale Hospital. You will need to book an appointment with reception. Alternatively you may take the request form to Keighley Health Centre or Airedale Hospital at the times listed on the form. In addition our Healthcare Assistant can visit housebound patients at home to perform blood tests.
Our nurses are able to perform ECGs for patients with heart and blood pressure problems at the request of the doctor.
24hr Blood Pressure Monitoring
This test may be requested by the doctor for certain patients with high blood pressure and can be performed by our nurses.
This test of lung function can also be performed within the surgery and may be used to monitor patients with COPD and to diagnose certain lung conditions.
X-rays and Ultrasounds
The doctor may refer you for radiology tests such as x-rays. Most of these are done at Keighley Health Centre on Oakworth Road but some more specialist scans may need to be done at Airedale Hospital.
Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection which may cause no symptoms but can cause longterm health problems and infertility. Patients can access chlamydia screening through either a GP or Nurse Practitioner. We are able to offer under 25'screening by a simple urine test, please ask for a chlamydia testing kit which can then be posted off and the results returned direct to you.
